How To Change The Time On Fitbit?(With/Without The App)

Fitbit is one of the more popular brands of smartwatches.

While it has plenty to offer users, especially when it comes to tracking your health, at the end of the day it is still a watch.

Therefore, it is essential that it displays the right time.

Unfortunately, you can’t change the time on Fitbit watches manually.

You need to sync it with your phone, and it picks up the time based on the timezone you’ve set.

If you don’t want to do it through the app, you can use your web browser.

Our guide can help you change it with or without the Fitbit app.

How To Change The Time On Fitbit Using The App?

The Fitbit app makes it easier for you to manage your devices.

You should have already made an account with Fitbit and can log in to the app.

The app lets you manage the settings and do other things on all your Fitbit devices.

To change the time on your Fitbit device using the app, you will need the Fitbit app downloaded on your mobile device.

Then, do the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app.
  2. If this is your first time using the app, you will be prompted to sign in to your Fitbit account. Enter your sign-in details.
  3. Once signed in, you need to go into your account. Tap the icon that appears to be three lines in the shape of a square.
  4. You will get a list of all the different Fitbit devices associated with the account. Tap on the device for which you want to change the time.
  5. Tap the “Advanced Settings” option and then “Time Zone.”
  6. You will get a list of different time zones, select the relevant one.
  7. Go back to your account and tap “Sync Now.”

The watch should now display the time based on the timezone you are currently in.

Sometimes, Fitbit automatically syncs with the timezone associated with your phone.

This is usually not an issue as the watch will pick up the correct timezone, however, for some, it may not happen or just give issues.

You may have to turn that functionality off.

To do that, you can:

Apple Users

  1. Go into “Settings.”
  2. Click on “Date & Time.”
  3. Hit the button next to “Set Automatically” to turn it off.

Android Users

  1. Go into “Settings.”
  2. Click on “Date & Time.”
  3. Hit the button next to “Automatic” to turn it off.

Your watch will no longer sync timezone with your phone. It will go according to the timezone you’ve set in your Fitbit account.

How To Change The Time On Fitbit Without The App?

Fitbit’s users can access their accounts and the devices associated with them on the web.

You don’t necessarily need the app to change the time on a Fitbit device.

You can do the following:

  1. Access your Fitbit account at: www.accounts.fitbit.com
  2. Enter your account details to log in.
  3. In the top right corner, you will notice a gear icon. Click on that to go into “Settings.”
  4. Click on “Personal Info.”
  5. Scroll down until you see “Advanced Settings” click on it.
  6. You will notice a “TimeZone” setting here. Click on it and change it accordingly.

Once you do this, the time on the watch should be according to the timezone you’ve selected.

What To Do If Fitbit Keeps Displaying The Wrong Time?

If your Fitbit continues to give issues in relation to time, you can try the following to fix it:

Pair and Unpair It

The first thing you should do is unpair the Fitbit device with the mobile device it is paired with.

For that, you can:

  1. Go into the settings of your device that are paired with the Fitbit.
  2. Tap the Bluetooth option to see the devices connected to it.
  3. Find the Fitbit device and unpair it.
  4. Wait a few minutes and pair the device back.

You may also need to unpair it from your Fitbit account and pair it back.

To do that, you can:

  5. Click on the device you want to unpair. You can then unpair it. Then, pair it back in the account.

Reboot Your Fitbit Watch

Try rebooting your Fitbit watch if you have issues with it displaying the correct time.

The way to go about that varies from model to model.

For Versa 3, 2, and Sense you can press and hold the buttons on the left of the watch for 15 seconds, and it will reboot.

For Charge 3 and 4, you can reboot the device by going into the “Settings” of the watch using the Tracker, select “Info,” and then “Reboot Device.”
